Cold pressed organic rape seed oil
The Virgino oil is produced from organic summer rape seed cultivated in the vicinity of the factory in Hämeenlinna, Finland. This rape seed is a distinct species that is hardly cultivated in other regions of Europe or the world. The species Brassica rapa ssp. Oleifera (turnip) has an even more favorable fatty acid composition than the normal rape seed (Brassica napus ssp. Oleifera).
The saturated fatty acid content (these are the bad fatty acids) is only 5% which is the lowest percentage in any major food oil. Of the beneficial unsaturated fatty acids 62% are monounsaturated. Virgino contains polyunsaturated linoleic and linolenic acids in an ideal balance. The varieties grown in Finland are also double-low in Erucic acid (00-varieties) and free from GMO. This alone makes Virgino oil one of the best oils around.
The oil is extracted from selected rape seed by a mechanical pressing process. The seeds are neither treated with any additives nor heated in any stage of production. The temperature of the oil and the seeds does not exceed 40C this ensuring that the fatty acids and vitamins remain in their natural form.
The Virgino rape seed oil also contains f.ex. beneficial Vitamin E, Ubiquinon and Lecithin. It has been shown that substituting solid fat with Virgino rape seed oil lowers the level of bad LDL cholesterol in humans and increases the proportion of good HDL cholesterol. Virgino oil withstands heating very well.
You can use Virgino oil in sallad dressings. Virgino also has a high smoking point thus allowing use for pan or deep frying. Or you can take 2 tablespoonfuls of Virgino daily to cover your lack of vitamin E and for the other health benefits.
